SUPPORT TCXPI, Donate Today!

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter."
Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. 1929-1968

Quality Education for African American children matters to TCXPI. This education should include, first and foremost, each child's heritage and culture. In TCXPI's case, it should be centered in Africa.

The goal of the Chinue X Inc, Project (TCXPI) Afrocentric Educational Resource Service (AERS) is to provide free educational resources for each child participant and their parents in order to provide education that will increase Self Love, Self-Worth, and Self Respect.

TCXPI Presents The Original Black Panther Party For Self Defense 53rd Anniversary 2019.

Every year for the month of October, TCXPI honors and respects the Legacy of the Black Panther Party For Self Defense, to pay tribute to my Dad #1, Brooksie Cornelius, who was an adamant supporter of the Party.

From October 1st forward, TCXPI shares daily BPP facts, through visual art, the history of the organization/movement and its many founding and life members. This year will be no different. Some have transitioned, some are still with us. We Celebrate THEM ALL!

TCXPI Salutes them ALL for their many contributions to the uplifting of Black communities nationwide.

Please join TCXPI to Celebrate The Original Black Panther Party by visiting:

The Year Of RAturn 2019 - TCXPI's Trips To The Motherland - Ghana - Day #2

On my first morning in Ghana, I take a walk through the community. The very first thing I do is go the the local pharmacy to purchase the pills for prevention of malaria. There are two pills that you take weekly to prevent contracting malaria.

The Pharmacy Clerks were very helpful and resourceful. I asked them where
I should have lunch and they told me Perfect Touch, so I went.

A gown shop in North Dzorwulu

My Taxi Driver. He waited while I ordered my food.

Perfect Touch Restaurant
It's best to call in if you're going to Perfect Touch for take-out.

The wait was long. Call in orders is prefered.

My Order.

Banku and Chicken, Plantain, Red Red (black eyed peas in red sauce) and Fish. Seasoned just right. I absolutely love Ghanaian food. It reminds me of my childhood.

The Year Of RAturn 2019 - TCXPI's Trips To The Motherland - Ghana - Day #1

I left San Francisco, CA on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 7:25am.
I arrived in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 3:30pm.

I had two layovers - one in Trenton, NJ, the other in Toronto, Canada.
Overall the travel to Ghana was uneventful.

I hired a driver, Mohammed, who was very patient with me and assisted me in re-activating my Ghanaian phone, and converting my currency to Cedis while at the airport. He gave me his card in case I needed his services.

It felt good to be back on the Soil of the Motherland.

I AM HOME!
Kotoko International Airport

I arrived at my housing accomodations in North Dzorwulu, which also serves as an AirBnb - Vivian AirBnB. I stayed here also during my first visit in the Spring of 2018 and Dr. V and I have formed a bond. I was welcomed by the family. I went up and began settling in and unpacking. I was welcomed with a homecooked dinner. Such a wonderful surprise.

Fruit presented to me upon my arrival - papaya, pineapple, avocado, oranges, bananas.

The Year Of RAturn 2019 - TCXPI's Trips To The Motherland - Ghana

My personal journey TCXPI's Trips To The Motherland - Ghana. My second trip home, occurred September 11-22, 2019.

TCXPI made its first trip to Ghana in Spring of 2018. We made the decision that if we could, we would RAturn every year.

Fall of 2019 was a similar yet different experience during our visit.

In my next several blog post, I will share a bit of my visit.
